The Gabrieli Choir

Concert at the Italian Cultural Institute

On Saturday 22nd May, the Gabrieli Choir will be performing in the second half of a charity concert at the Italian Cultural Institute (Budapest, VIII., Bródy Sándor u. 8) given by the Lehigh University Philharmonic Orchestra, who will be visiting Budapest from the United States.  The concert will start at 7.30 pm.

Their programme starts with Beethoven’s Eighth Symphony.  After the interval they will be joined by the Gabrieli Choir, the Gemma Choir, plus four soloists, for a performance of Beethoven’s Choral Fantasia. This will be directed from the piano by the orchestra’s Artistic Director, Eugene Albulescu.

The concert is being staged for the benefit of the Zoltán Kodály Hungarian Choir School, and so donations for this most worthy of institutions will be most gratefully accepted.  Members of the audience will also have a chance to hear the school’s award winning girls’ choir, Jubilate, under their conductor Ferenc Sapson: they will be performing Kocsár, Orbán and Gershwin.
