The Gabrieli Choir

Katalin Varga

Katalin Varga

Katalin first studied piano and singing while attending a grammar school specialising in music, and she continued to pursue choral singing throughout her studies in secondary school and at university. Although she quit piano after learning it for eight years, a few years later she founded an amateur ensemble with a few friends from university, where she explored the real beauty of playing with others and improvising on the piano. Composing pieces for piano remained her hobby.

During a two-year stint in the UK she learned the fundamentals of classical guitar, completing several courses in it. At the same time, she started to become familiar with English church music by attending concerts.

She joined the Gabrieli Choir in February 2008 and is an enthusiastic amateur singer, and great fan of English music. When she is not busy with pursuing her love of music, she co-ordinates the work of a translation agency.
